Our goal is to introduce and develop the sport of track and field to boys and girls from the age of 5 years old to 18 years old. We will work hard to develop speed, explosive power, and endurance. This will allow the athletes to become more efficient at running and more powerful at jumping and throwing. The skills taught in practice will enhance their overall athletic performance that can carry over to other sports or develop a new passion for track and field. All levels of athletic ability are welcome.
Athletes will compete in up to four events at a meet. The events that an athlete will compete in will be determined by which activities they will be most successful in. Success will be measured by continual improvement during practice and meets. There are two types of meets in we will compete in. There are Developmental meets and Invitational/Qualifying meet. Developmental meets may be sanctioned under USATF or AAU. Developmental meets may not run all events. These are organized meets to prepare teams and officials. There are no qualifying standards for Developmental meets, so all athletes will participate. Qualifying meets are events where the top athletes in each event are allowed the right to represent their district or region. The top regional qualifiers will be allowed to compete at the Jr. Olympics. We have qualified numerous athletes to compete at the Junior Olympics every year since our inception in 2012. So far we have had athletes compete on the collegiate level with: UNC Asheville,Wingate University,Winthrop University,Winston Salem State,UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, North Greenville University.
Our season began with conditioning on Monday March 6,2023 and we will compete through the end July.
